Tour stop 6 recap
Stop 6 started out with an afternoon 9-ball tourney with
$500 added. 83 players showed up in this single elimination handicapped format.
We were able to get down to the final four with Billy Lasee vs Daryl Larson and
Joe Morgan vs Archie Henderson. Larson and Morgan advanced with Morgan claiming
the $400 victory. At 7:30 Friday, we began the 142 player field 8-ball event.
This huge field saw everyone play at least one match Friday evening and began
the elimination process Saturday morning. The tournament wound down to the final
32 all in the money by 8pm on Saturday evening, which began the start of the
free entry last chance. An astounding 90 players out of a possible 110
participated in the last chance. The last chance was split by newcomer Mike
Regan and Tom Radawitz. The main event concluded by 7pm on Sunday and saw Lance
Schofield defeat Sonny Frappier in a one match final. Schofield (rated a 725)
went through the field undefeated for his first ever victory. Frappier (rated a
708) was also looking for his first victory after playing nearly every event the
last two years. Third place went to Dave Torzewski and fourth to the always
improving Jim Hartl. Fifth and sixth were claimed by another newcomer Brian
Kussman and Tim Clark. We want to remind everyone that you need to play in two
events to qualify for the finals held at Mole Lake in April. At this point,
there are only two tour stops remaining.
Feb. 19-21 at Mole Lake and
March 12-14 at Keshena. These are both partner’s event
