Stop 7, January Freeroll

Mole Lake Casino saw the first ever Free roll tournament on the Native American Casino Pool Tour on Jan 16-18, 2009. A full field of 128 players showed up to take advantage of this great event and the main event purse of $4500.

This was an 8-ball only event, that began Friday night and continued through the weekend. As a bonus, the last chance tournament saw an increased purse to $1000 and 16 players cashing.

The main event paid the top 32 finishers with a three way split for first due to length of travel for two of the remaining three players. Cory Scheiderer, Mike Brubaker and Richard Carrillo shared the top honors. For Scheiderer it continued his hot season with his unprecedented third trip to the finals. Previously on the tour only two others have accomplished a two time win, Billy Lasee and Rob Hovick. Cory has seen his rating increase 95 points this season.

The top finisher for the last chance was Tom Hemberger who defeated Bruce Gruening. Mole Lake will do another free roll tournament in April, two weeks prior to the Finals.
