Tour Stop #10 recap LCO March 20-22, 2009

Tour Stop #10 was held at LCO casino in Hayward. This marked their second stop of the season. In November we had a record 47 teams at the event. We were hoping for a repeat, but fell short due to some league tourneys and other events. A total of 37 teams participated with the highest rated team ever with a 968 rating capturing first in a two set final. Top Gunz with Geno Albrecht Sr. and Justin Volk held off the hard charging MN team Bloodbath and Beyond with Chris Messer and Grant Gotwald. Bloodbath won the first set but could not do it twice in a row and settled for second. Third place went to It’s Pool Time, Kerry Sorenson and Chris Frosaker from Marquette, MI.

The weekend began on Thursday evening with a Tribal/employee mixed scotch doubles tournament which had 15 teams and a great deal of fun and competition. Also, for the first time in a long time we has a double elimination 9-ball tourney which was well received and attended with 60 players and $1000 added.. Ben Schemensky double dipped Ron Tuschl both racing to 7 and took home first place and $500. Randy Schofield place third.

There was no second chance offered at this event due to the later start format. The event ended at 6:15 pm Sunday evening with a completed three hour double set final.
